The Elite System offers flexibility of installation.
You can install "on site" and you can install "enterprise wide" with equipment spread out over a wide geographic area.
The option you chose can affect your cost - you can reduce the amount of equipment required in some cases. In fact, some customers use multiple installation options to suit their range of needs.
Please note that our equipment comes "optioned" ready for use. The XL Data Wand includes a leather pouch. The XL Memory Unloader includes cable and AC Mains power pack, the charger units include AC Mains power packs.
| Small System - Local Reports |
|
When you want to generate reports "on-site" - the selection of equipment is easy. Basically - you will need all the gear at the site - a complete Elite System and a PC.
- One XL Data Wand
- One XL Memory Unloader
- One XL Dual Charger (charge up to 2 wands simultaneously)
- One Elite Software package
- Quantity of iButton™ serial numbers
PC Minimum Requirements:
At least 64MB of Ram, at least 100 MB of free hard disk space. Windows 95 / 98 / 2000 / NT / XP / Vista or similar operating system. The PC must have a spare COM port and a CD drive (Unloader talks to the PC through the serial port and our software is supplied on CD).
| Large System - Local Reports |
|
A large system has the same basic requirements as the small system described above ... all you need to change is the number (and perhaps the type) of charger units, the number of wands and iButtons™.
For example - for a 10 wand system you are advised to have two QUAD chargers so that you can recharge up to 8 wands simultaneously.
The Elite Reporter software will handle data from hundreds of Wands and the XL Memory Unloader will store and transport up to 65,535 records before it needs to be unloaded into a PC.
| Small System - Remote Reporting |
|
Remote reporting is where the reports are generated at a computer system remote from the site where the XL Data Wands are used. This option does not require you to have a PC at the site, and it can reduce the amount of equipment you need to purchase.
This mode of operation is suitable when a report is required only once a week or relatively infrequently.
In this case - the equipment choice is exactly the same as for a "local report" system - except that the XL Unloader is kept at "head office" and used by a supervisor to extract data from wands on site when the site is visited. Equipment required is as follows:
At The Site
- XL Data Wand(s)
- XL Dual or Quad chargers
- Quantity of iButtons™
At Head Office
- XL Memory Unloader(s) for a staff member(s) to take to the remote site(s) when data is to be collected
- Elite Software for reporting and control of Unloader(s)
- A PC
There are some big advantages with this mode of operation. Firstly - you do not need to have a PC on the site. Secondly, you do not need to train operators in PC operation or in generating reports. These are both big savings in cost and time.
Many of our clients have one or a few static guards or cleaners stationed permanently at a fixed location where there is no access to a computer. The Elite System saves them a lot of cost and inconvenience.
We call a system that has data wands spread out across a wide geographic area, along with a mix of local and remote reporting an "Enterprise" system. Basically - equipment you require is a mix of equipment from the other options. For example
- One XL Data Wand
- One XL Memory Unloader
- One XL Dual Charger (charge up to 2 wands simultaneously)
- One Elite Software package
- Quantity of iButton™ serial numbers
This kind of system can collect data from XL Data Wands anywhere in the world and eMail the data (or send data via floppy disk, USB drive, etc.) to any other place for reporting.
Data can be used in more than one reporting system, at a branch office for example and then sent to head office for checking and archival - safely and accurately.
The Elite System has been designed so that it is very low cost to maintain. You are able to maintain the value of your capital purchase with low repair and update costs.
The ability of the Elite System to suit the small office single user, right up to the enterprise wide nation spanning system is a clear advantage. You are able to expand or change your system as your needs change.
The XL Memory Unloader provides a flexibility and freedom in data extraction that is unique. It frees users from having to disrupt their work and use a PC "right now" for data extraction. The ability to go to a site and extract data "on the spot", also cannot be understated.
In June 2002 our second largest customer told us that a competitor's system was trialed at their site and failed because;
- The Elite Reporter software is unrivalled
- The XL Data Wand actually worked (read the buttons) better
- The fail-safes and diagnostics within the Elite System are by far the best.
We have been working on making our system as tolerant of fault and as "rebuildable" as possible.
The cost of repairs, updates and refurbishment are your only recurrent cost from Elite-ID. These costs have been deliberately kept very low due to the modern, efficient and reliable design of the equipment.
The only other recurrent costs are in managing the system and performing essential computer maintenance such as data backups.
| Refurbs, Upgrades and Repairs |
|
The Elite System has been designed to be simple and inexpensive to maintain.
For example - updating an XL Data Wand from an "old" to a "new" version of internal construction, updating its computer chip, a new box and a full test costs approximately $30 (AUD). The XL Memory Unloader costs approximately the same to update from an old version to the latest.
Our goal has been to make every effort to help our customers keep their equipment in the best condition, giving the least trouble, and ensuring that they give us a good referral to other customers who will also purchase the Elite System!
